Overview
The Moonlight Floral Cleanser is a low-irritation gel-to-foam formulation designed for sensitive and combination skin types. It minimizes mechanical friction and water loss during cleansing. Suspended Rosa gallica petals enhance the sensory and visual quality of use, while the single-step cleansing structure ensures clean rinse-off without the need for double cleansing.
Purpose & Application
The cleanser was designed to address the following user cases:
① Individuals experiencing irritation, redness, or dryness post-wash
② Skin barrier-compromised users who require immediate moisturization after cleansing
③ Minimal-routine users who prefer a “reaction-free” baseline before skincare application
The formula was structured into a three-phase system—surfactant–hydration–barrier—targeting post-cleansing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and minimizing exfoliative response.
Results
• Completed human primary irritation test (KDRI, 2023): 0.00 irritation index
• User-reported satisfaction:
• 99% described “gentle, non-irritating cleansing”
• 98% did not require additional cleansing
• 97% reported no tightness post-wash
• 130,000 units sold since launch
• Serves as base formulation for subsequent Bueno+ cleansing development
Researcher’s Commentary
This formulation was engineered to deliver “non-reactive cleansing”—a process that leaves no physiological trace post-wash. The surfactant blend of coco-glucoside, betaine derivatives, and disodium cocoyl glutamate balances low irritation with lipid membrane retention. The humectant–barrier complex (trehalose, glycerin, ceramide NP) showed functional synergy in both hydration recovery and post-wash barrier maintenance.
The Rosa gallica flower powder was included for exfoliation, friction buffering, and visual signaling. The 16-oil aromatic complex aids not only in olfactory experience, but also in neuro-sensory calming during the cleansing phase.
The preservation system integrates with the essential oils to provide broad-spectrum microbial stability without the use of high-risk preservatives, ensuring prolonged tolerability even for sensitive skin profiles.
